What did CDA say about E-12 in early 2026?
At a review meeting on 28 January, officials told the CDA chairman that E-12/1 and E-12/2 were in the final stages of basic infrastructure. Work in E-12/3 was ongoing. Tenders for E-12/4 were to be issued once existing obstacles were removed, according to CDA. The chairman ordered possession of developed plots to be expedited.
Two weeks later, CDA reported that basic infrastructure in E-12/1 and E-12/2 was complete. It also asked officials to mark plot locations on Google Maps and to clear the sector's main entry.
In March, CDA said work on the main roads around the E-12 commercial centre and on electricity supply was progressing quickly.
What changed when CDA got a new chairman?
CDA changed chairman in spring 2026. The president of the E-12 Allottees Welfare Association welcomed the appointment and called for progress people could see on the ground, APP reported.
In late May, the new chairman directed the engineering wing to treat E-12 as a priority. The land directorate was told to settle legitimate compensation claims. At that point, CDA held possession of land in about two sub-sectors, while one was fully under adverse possession and another partly occupied, ProPakistani reported.
Has CDA announced E-12 possession?
No. In June, The News reported that two proposals were under discussion. One was to hand over E-12/1 and E-12/2 first, where development work had been carried out. No decision had been made. We have found no official possession notice since.
Good to know
Rumours of an E-12 possession date circulate often. Until CDA issues a formal notice, treat any date you hear as unconfirmed.
What happened in E-12 from September to October 2026?
On 7 September, CDA released funds under its 2026-27 annual work programme. E-12/4 received Rs2 billion for roads, drainage, water supply and sewerage. Rs100 million went to remaining works in E-12/1, E-12/2 and E-12/3, and Rs200 million to the E-12 Markaz, Minute Mirror reported.
Later that month, CDA officials handed 15 allotment letters to E-12 affectees at the site. About 146 letters against built-up property were still pending, ProPakistani reported. These letters compensate local owners whose land was acquired.
In October, the CDA chairman visited E-12 twice. CDA said more than 1,000 kanals of state land had been retrieved. On 26 October, ARY News reported that about 1,135 kanals were recovered after more than 40 years of unlawful occupation, and the chairman ordered work to meet its deadlines.
What should E-12 buyers watch for next?
- A formal CDA possession notice for E-12/1 and E-12/2.
- Tenders and contractors named for E-12/4 infrastructure.
- Progress on the roughly 146 pending compensation cases.
- A finished main entry to the sector, which CDA ordered in February.
What this means for buyers
2026 brought more official action on E-12 than recent years: budget, land recovery and compensation. None of it is a possession date. Buy based on what is confirmed, not on what is promised.
